  1. One of the other bloggers I read had a post not too long ago about her ‘Everyday Carry’ – those items she never leaves the house without. She lives on a mountain in upstate New York, not in a big city subdivision but Kelly talking about never going without her water bottle, coffee mug and spork reminded me that the principle is the same no matter where a person lives. Have you ever thought about coming up with an Everyday Carry list for your own urban environment? Not everyone has to think about walking five miles through the woods if the car breaks down but I would think being sure you leave home with all the essentials ‘just in case’ applies to all living situations, whether you are concerned with preventing waste or just getting home safe.

    • Maria, I love the idea of an urban EDC. I think I did a post about my EDC a long time ago, but I need to revisit the idea. I’ll let Kelly chime in, but I carry a Leatherman multi-tool at all times and I use it nearly every day. I also have some Ibuprofen on hand and I used to carry a band-aid (I need to start doing that again). I’m also thinking of carrying some sort of utensil set too.
