I discovered muhammara a couple years ago. It’s wonderful and not very hard to do but I recommend this recipe from Ottolenghi.

In addition to being wonderful as a dip, it’s a great summer meal with some hummus and baba ganoush. It also turns ordinary Southern Pimiento cheese into something special.
Thanks for the tip! There is a Lebanese/Armenian restaurant not far from where we live called Marouch. They have the best muhammara I’ve ever had but the recipe is a closely guarded secret.
Hope you’ll enjoy it!
