Picture Sundays: Good News and Dog Carts

First off, Governor Brown signed the California Homemade Food Act, AB 1616, into law this past week. So Californians will soon be able to make and sell “non-hazardous” foods in a home kitchen and sell them.

  1. Interesting… first heard of this from the 1949 novel Earth Abides. Survivors of a pandemic-induced collapse found dog carts the most effective means of long distance transportation. Unlike horses dogs are much easier to handle, can eat human food scraps or feed themselves but don’t need large pastures. The main characters also used them as an alarm system and hunting companions.
