We use rice bags made in different sizes and heated in the microwave instead of water bottles. I like water bottles but the few I’ve had haven’t lasted long, and filling one with hot water is more difficult then popping a rice bag in the microwave.
Similar to the rice bag mentioned, I use a large corn-filled bag, heated in the microwave for 4 minutes, a small jar of water included. The bag is large enough I can snuggle my feet into it and it stays warm for hours.
I use a hot water bottle most days in the winter! It is made by Fashy, which I think is a German company. Years ago I had a friend from western Canada suggest one to me and I fell in love. The best!
For a hot water bottle, I use a screw-top aluminum water bottle wrapped in a sock. Works a treat.

Now I want to name my next cat “Waffles.”
