PSA: The Joel Salatin article isn’t about farming, it’s a cancel-attempt. Disappointing.
Thanks for the link to the Joel Salatin article. As soon as he started becoming so proudly “politically incorrect” I started, sadly, tuning him out. It’s comforting to find I’m not the only one who felt put-off by his increasingly wacky rhetoric.
I’m not down w/ this cancel culture crap.
Joe Salatin was just speaking his mind; yeah, its his family’s land, but his push for getting people to grow their own food is what he’s all about.
Some will be able to pull it off, others won’t. To start blaming Salatin, for anything really is off putting.
John Muir they tried cancelling too; SNL had a pretty good skit about cancelling Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben (and the Allstate guy, LOL!). I mean they tried to cancel Father Junipero Serra’s statues! forchrissakes…
if it wasn’t the missions there would be no California natives, at all.
theres the good and the bad, gotta take it all holistically.
I recommend this book, “The Coddling Of The American Mind”, some quotes:
“the feeling of being wrong is indistinguishable from the feeling of being right. We are all wrong about many things at every moment, but until we know it, we are often quite certain that we are right. Having people around us who are willing to disagree with us is a gift.”
and
“Argue as if you’re right, but listen as if you’re wrong (and be willing to change your mind). Make the most respectful interpretation of the other person’s perspective. Acknowledge where you agree with your critics and what you’ve learned from them.”
Cancel CANCEL culture!!!
p.s. —
sorry, if I offended anyone. 😉
We can all learn something from everyone, and if you find someone becoming offputting, turn away and find someone else. Everyone has a purpose to being here and we don’t have to accept everything that someone says as gospel. I have to agree somewhat with Joann.
