Being the Change: Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution. Alarmed by drastic changes now occurring in the Earth’s climate systems, the author, a climate scientist and suburban father of two, embarked on a journey to change his life and the world. He began by bicycling, growing food, meditating, and making other simple, fulfilling changes. Ultimately, he slashed his climate impact to under a tenth of the US average and became happier in the process.
Two comments:
1. The tick. I could have told the people involved exactly what was going to happen, because it always does, and because we run a lab here at our home in which we test Murphy’s Law daily; as a result, we are well acquainted with its many iterations and corollaries. The tick escape was inevitable, the fumigation was overkill. We would have waited for one or other cat to find the tick – or the other way around – and dealt with it then.
2. Ikea. I think that Ikea should supply highly-trained assembly monkeys with all its products. We don’t actually own any Ikea products, but we have heard the moaning of friends who do.
