  1. Could this be where the term ‘ride piggyback’ came from? 😉 There are also many youtube attempts at riding pigs.. though I’m not sure if it’s the smartest idea to try to hop on a 1100 lb. pig that’s not expecting it.

  2. I think it’s the same pig in both photos. The picture with the child has stirrup leathers set at adult length, the bridle is pretty distinctive, and the white numbers written on the photos are sequential. But it is a weird thing, and that kid looks less than enchanted to be holding the pig’s reins.

    • Good eye! I think you’re right. Maybe this pig had a career as a novelty mount–which may not be dignified, but would have saved his bacon. Har.

  3. I grew up on a homestead and we rode pigs for fun growing up. (I’m in my 30s) We didn’t have the fancy saddle, but we’d climb on and hang on for dear life.

  4. The other commentators are correct, it is the same pig. See the wring in along the edges of each? One says 37 125 and the other says 37 126. They were taken one right after the other. Just imagine that afternoon!
