The much-anticipated (but not by me) Internet of Things came up in this morning’s, “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” on NPR. It seems that new Crock Pots are internet-enabled so you can turn them on and off via your phone, but because they are not protected, hackers can use them as an entry into your protected phone to steal your data.
Here’s the “Wait, Wait” website: http://www.npr.org/programs/wait-wait-dont-tell-me/ Scroll down to where it says, “Panel Round Two” and you can listen.
