Why stop at just the tree when you’re wielding your own flocker? The car, the kids, the dog? Do any of you have distant memories of DIY flocking? Via Kitsch and Retro.
Let’s just say that I intensely dislike flocked trees. But, I do remember them and all the home flocking that occurred. I am quite sure that would have made me quit breathing forever.
What the flock?!?!
Thank you Tom for making the joke I was too prudish to make. I’ll have you write the blog post titles from now on. Hope you guys are doing well.
I’m afraid that technology went right by me. But I doubt much flocking is going on with the hose attached to the vacuum port on the vacuum cleaner. I suspect it was meant to be moved to the exhaust end and I wonder how their illustrator missed that. :: says the girl who inflated many a weather balloon back in the 70s with a vacuum cleaner ::
I am old enough to remember when Christmas trees flocked with a vacuum cleaner were all the rage. Fortunately, my own parents were too health conscious to spray that stuff in our house.
I also remember those awful aluminum trees with the spotlight and color wheel.
I have always thought flocked trees were nasty and messy. What was really bad was when people flocked it with the ornaments on the tree. What a mess! And that flocking never came off the ornaments. Vacuum cleaner??? Gross! I only remember it coming in spray cans.
