Picture Sundays: Root Simple Compound Caught On Google Street View

streetview

It appears that Google Street View, back in April, caught me in the act of contemplating cleaning the garage. You can tell from my posture that I’m in the intellectual rather than the physical stage of garage sorting. In the front yard the fruit trees have leafed out, clarkia is blooming in the sparse parkway, the nopal is loaded with immature fruit and the roses have yet to climb the entrance arbor.

If only I had a Root Simple banner and and an alpaca to take to lunch.

  1. Oh goodness, this gave me a chuckle. Google street view caught a picture of my husband’s 87 year old grandpa on the roof of his house, fixing something…

  2. First I want to know what the Google car looks like so I can hide when it comes down the block, and second I want to know how many steps you have to climb to get up to your house?! Guess you will never need the Stair Master at the gym! Gads! It makes me think that I would never want to leave home after I got up there. But you must have a great view of the city.
Hope you got the garage cleaned out!

  3. As you described different aspects of your property and how/where things were located, I tried to picture it. Now, I can see it. Maybe you could include a link to this post when you talk about what you do out front. I had no idea your garage was at street level and the house above. Is there an exit at the back of the garage, or must you go to the sidewalk to get into the garage?

The contemplation/intellectual part of any sorting or doing is the important part.

Those are way too many steps for me. I would plan for the trip down so I would not have to repeat it often.

    • Yes, we have to walk along the sidewalk to get to our stairs. Also, there’s no access to the back of the house via an alley or anything. Everything has to go up those stairs.

I’m pretty used to going up and down, and don’t think myself bad off, because staircases like ours are common around here. We have two good friends (in different houses) who have it much worse. They each have to walk up something more like 90 stairs every time they come home. Even though I “train” on our stairs I always am huffing and puffing up theirs.

The upside for them is that they both have spectacular city views.

  4. A friend of mine had something similar happened,

googled her house, she found it, she also recognized a car
and a woman walking towards the front door,

    a mutual friend,

    busted.

But she wanted more proof so up came the spy cams. Gotta love technology.

  5. I hope you are eating those prickly pears off those beautiful plants you have out front. On second thought, why else would you have em there? Nice grove, bet you get some sweet fruit.

    • We had so much fruit this year that I gave a lot of it away. I like it fresh the best, but have made it into jelly in previous years. I tried to ferment some last month but it didn’t turn out so well. I’ve got to blog about that.
