Judging from this photo I found on my computer it appears that someone named Gordon C. Smith designed a “Multiposition Tube Seat” sometime in the 1970s.
Go ahead young, ambitious entrepreneur–bring this back as a multiposition texting/gaming/thoughtstyling chair.
A trip down memory lane. The photo takes me back to my college days of $1.49/gallon red mountain wine and bean bag chairs!
I’m afraid that those of us who are old enough to remember the first coming of the (awful and uncomfortable) bean bag chairs are now too old to get into and out of them gracefully or without assistance.
