  1. I don’t even need medieval fantastical garden paintings to give me garden envy, I just have to look at those glossy magazines at the local supermarket. You know, the ones in which no weeds ever appear, where all the exotically beautiful plants flower perfectly – and simultaneously – and the charming garden tchochkes are exquisitely suited to their surroundings. Where no husband has left tools out, no neighbor’s dog has dug a hole and no child has carelessly flung a tricycle.

    You can probably guess what kind of garden I have.
