They don’t always turn out this nice, but I managed to make a few good loaves this week. Video on how to do this is on the way, I promise.

    • Hey Ben, While I have a wood fired horno in the backyard, for day to day baking I use our old O’Keefe and Merrit which you can see here. When I use a regular oven I bake in a cast iron pot which works almost as well as the wood fired oven.

  1. Yes, video please! I used to love making when I was younger, then I had kids and was exhausted for a few years. Now I’d like to get back into it, and I saw from the youtube video about your homestead that you don’t have to knead it. I never liked kneading. I’m going to look for a recipe on your site now.

  2. think I saw a video of your online awhile back where you showed us around your place.. was wondering where you buy the non GMO flour in the 5 gal. buckets? any info would be appreciated. thanks so much

    • It’s from Central Milling. I started a bread club called the LA Bread Bakers. We do bulk orders from Central Milling about four times a year. And as far as I know there is no GMO wheat flour right now. King Arthur flour is also good and easier to find than Central Milling.

    • Hi there! That video is not yet made, I’m sorry to say. But it is definitely on the list as the next video we will make. Erik is at the Heirloom Fest this week, but when he gets back, I’ll remind him that folks are waiting!
